Hometown Isolation

As the restrictions were eased here in the UK, I safely (while observing the advice from the Government’s medical experts - unlike many I came across whilst making my way around!) ventured out, camera in hand. I hadn’t shot anything of any real note since New York back in March (seems so long ago!) so it was good to blow the cobwebs off and get back to shooting.

Anyone who has ever visited Oxford will know, it is always crammed with tourists come rain or shine, all year round. So I took the rare opportunity, making the best of a bad situation if you will, to get some shots of Oxford and my hometown Abingdon during the pandemic. It was a very surreal experience, walking around the streets I have know for years in the gorgeous May sunshine, absolutely deserted and void of any usual activity.

Due to time restrictions, I didn’t want to take too much gear with me, so for this walk I only packed the Lumix S1 with 24-105 kit, the Laowa 12mm Zero-D and the Canon 70-200 (adapted with the Sigma MC-21).

I hope you enjoy these highlights from my short stroll around,

Stay safe, stay positive and keep creative.
